This is the new Maserati GranTurismo Sport.
Well, that’s what the marketing people want you to believe, but it’s really just a facelifted version of the GranTurismo S model it replaces.
Whatever, it looks better, goes faster and is due to premiere at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show which begins on 6th March.

The Show
To distinguish the Sport from the outgoing S, Maserati has provided it with an elegant makeover with the emphasis on its sporty prowess.
At the front, the restyled bumper is said to optimize airflow to help cool both the engine and brakes. It also frames the new headlights and LED daytime running lights.
At the back new taillights look sharper and adopt a darker, more elegant shade.
Moving inside, significant changes include redesigned front and rear seats which are accompanied by a chunkier sports steering wheel.

The Go
The 4.7-litre V8 has also been improved. Total power rises to 460bhp.
Linked to the standard six-speed automatic (flappy paddles are optional), the GranTurismo Sport should reach 62 mph in less than 5 seconds – full details are expected at Geneva.
And if you would prefer to shift gears yourself, a six-speed sequential manual transmission is available as an option.
Prices have still to be released, but expect to pay around £90,000 for the Maserati GranTurismo Sport when it reaches the UK in September.
Both the standard 4.2-litre V8 GranTurismo and MC Stradale remain unchanged.
So, do you approve of the facelift? Does it make the GranTurismo more appealing? Thumbs up? Thumbs down?
